I've Graduated

Writing the title is weird as hell, let me say. After a long, fantastic two weeks where I cried more than I'd like to admit, school's over for me. It's kinda bittersweet, I'm keen to never do a 9-3 school day again, but I'll miss the in-jokes and the simplicity of being able to walk to someone's locker instead of driving 20 minutes to their place. I can't really get my thoughts together but I thought I'd try writing about it all and see how I go.

Listening To Lisa Mitchell's Warriors

Every so often you find an album that you end up listening to every day for a month. Well, I found it, and it's Lisa Mitchell with her third album Warriors. This is an album that you just can't miss, the music is nothing short of ethereal and so well suited to her voice. Also, I bought the vinyl and I couldn't pass up photographing it, I mean it looks almost more whimsical than the music that's on it. Anyway, here's my thoughts on the record, in all its folk-pop-acoustic beauty.

Real Self-Care Tips

Life is shit sometimes. Like I-don't-want-to-get-out-of-bed-crying-in-the-car kind of shit. Sometimes your life turns into the Friends theme song, and it just really hasn't been your day/week/month/year. I get it, you get it, breaking down and losing touch with yourself is something we all deal with at least semi-regularly, and maybe we need to talk about how we build ourselves back up (probably why you're here now). To be honest, some of my greatest achievements have come straight after I have pulled myself out of a rut/situation that was getting me down. I'll level with you, I'm working my way out of a rut right now, and today I'm going to share what I do to practice real self-care that gets me through the day, and lets me focus on dealing with my hand of cards at the moment.
P.S. You don't need to be in a rough patch to benefit from these tips, they're important for everyone.
